Second, we can determine which basic building blocks are common to teaching among humans, nonhuman animals, computers that teach and any other teaching systems. One is that once we have determined what they are, we can seek their origins in human infants’ cognition and then study their developmental trajectories. And that further enables us to reverse course to seek these building blocks’ developmental trajectories, as they eventually allow us to describe human teaching’s complexity and its fundamental functional units.Īll of that having been said, what could basic building blocks give us that is of importance? Several reasons can be offered for their significance. That complexity could serve as a map of its components that allows us to do backward engineering to get at teaching’s basic building blocks. Strauss ( 2018), without denying the importance of basic building blocks, claimed that a helpful way to come to better understand teaching is to attempt to determine its complexity. The route we chose to achieve this goal is to explore several approaches to teaching, and see how they provide insights into these basic building blocks.īut before presenting these approaches, we first justify our choice to seek basic building blocks of teaching. Measuring and creating a platform where users can learn, but also see benefits in their performance. The main goal of this introduction to this Special Issue is to suggest what basic building blocks of teaching may be. Using KPIs and combining these with learning goals. No. We assemble Blocks exactly the way you want it: only what you need, completely on brand. It's hit or miss, and you only get to tune the frequencies in which to recreate bass on the unit itself, so you can't tweak it for each song. Using it on other music results in sickeningly deep, punchy and consuming bass. Using it on some music results in muddy worthlessness. The Epicenter is a bass-head's toy, not much more. You can also drive your amplifier into HARD clipping EXTREMELY easily if you do not know what you are doing. You can make ANY music absolutely thunderous with the epicenter. It supports both balanced and unbalanced inputs. Once you've tuned the unit to 'boost' (create) bass in the right frequency range, you then adjust how much restoration you want by turning the knob that is mounted in the front of your vehicle.īecause the epicenter takes an uncrossed over signal to work correctly, you must cross over your signal AFTER the epicenter, which means if you are using crossovers on your head unit, you'll need a full-range output for the Epicenter, or you'll need to switch to an external crossover.Īlong with this digital bass restoration, the epicenter functions as a line driver, yielding up to a 10 volt output. With the Wide knob turned all the way to the right, the bass response becomes more booming and open." With the Wide knob turned all the way to the left, bass response is tighter and harder hitting. The Wide knob allows the user to control the width of the restoration. The Sweep knob can be set to center The Epicenter®'s restoration anywhere between 27Hz and 63Hz. The middle position represents approximately 45Hz. With the Sweep knob turned all the way to the right, The Epicenter® is centering on 63Hz. With the Sweep knob turned all the way to the left, The Epicenter® is centering restoration on 27Hz. That is done on the unit itself with 2 knobs labelled 'wide' and 'sweep'.ĭirectly from Audiocontrol - " The Sweep knob allows the user to pick the center frequency of the bass restoration. You choose on the Epicenter what range of frequencies you want to adjust, both the center point and how wide of a range to adjust. It uses some subharmonic algorithms to figure out what it thinks should be present in the low frequencies based on what it sees in the higher frequencies. If bass frequencies are already present in the source material, the Epicenter won't add anything. The epicenter looks at this signal and computes, based on higher octaves, what it believes should be present in low frequencies. You send the Epicenter a full range, uncrossed over signal. The Epicenter is a digital bass restoration device. (most common) a remote amplitude cut/boost (voltage) adjustment to a fixed (or variable) frequency point with a fixed Q (slope.) It's like a remote EQ slider. a remote gain adjustment that laters the impedance of the input stage of the amplifierĢ. How do they work? Do they increase voltage? What exactly is going on when you crank on that knob? Thanksġ. I was wondering what the difference is(if any) between a standard bass knob or a bass processor such as an epicenter from Audio control. Pro tip: You can use shift to queue the exploration of all nearby solar systems. So find your Science Ship and have it scan the nearby system (survey system). We now know that our solar system is not the only one out there. This time we are lucky and no less than 5 other stars are already located within our borders. It does not need a Colony and it does not need a frontier outpost, you can just send a construction ship, construct mines and harvest those minerals. Every star system within your borders can be exploited. Go to the galaxy map ( shortcut E) and notice the blue ring around Sol. The blue ring represent your borders, or influence. So our own solar system is fully used, now what? Now it is time to explore and expand! But how do we do that? 4.1 Border influence Thanks to research the influence also increased to +4. The farm in the lower left requires a larger population to function. The power plant in the top right corner is still under construction. I ended up building 2 new farms, 1 mining network and 2 new power plants. Ideally they will be placed on a tile that already produces some energy. To prevent this from happening you should visit planet Earth and construct additional Power Plants. So soon your energy surplus will be gone. 3.2 Built Power plantsĮach mining station will require -1 energy in monthly maintenance. If you get the option to construct a research station then don’t. Repeat this process every time your science ship finds mineral and energy deposits. Select your Construction ship, right click on Mercury and order it to build a Mining Station. When discussing curly hair, the meat of the information was focused on relaxers and how to do a blow out successfully. However, looking back, it’s ironic how little hair school teaches you about naturally curly hair. I had a great experience in hair school and felt at home in that environment. Immediately after high school I enrolled in Cosmetology school and dove head first into all things hair. For some reason, I just knew that wasn’t for me. Q: Share how you got started in the hair industry.Ī: After high school all of my friends were going to college. Learn more about her journey as a stylist and a few top tips on how to care for loose, fine wavy and curly hair. You will find her spending time with her growing family and lifelong friends when she’s not fueling her love for hairdressing at Local Honey. When you’re done, you can plop your hair while it’s still dripping wet, or you can apply styling products while it’s still soaking wet.! PICTURED: STYLIST NIKKI KEPLEY AKA Kepley is a stylist and educator that enjoys sharing her passion for all things hair and beauty. This is the only part that takes a bit of practice, but after several squish to condishes you will get a better feel for it. Your hair will look more hydrated and will drip water at a slower rate. You’ll know when your hair has had its fill it will tell you. Use cold or cool water if you are able to.Ĭontinue working in sections, squishing clumps of curls with water, until your hair has become completely saturated with moisture. This motion forces the cuticle open and helps the conditioner penetrate deep into the hair shaft. When you’re ready to wash the conditioner out, cup water in your hands, gather a clump of curls, and squish the water in. If you get a (kind of gross) squelching sound, you’re doing it right! If possible, allow the conditioner to sit and absorb for several minutes. Scrunch (squish) the conditioner into your hair in sections. Finger comb the conditioner through your hair to evenly distribute the conditioner, and avoid getting the conditioner on your roots and scalp. For medium-length hair you will need approximately a palm full. With your hair wet, bend forward at the waist, drape your hair to the front, and apply a generous amount of conditioner to your hair. Start with hair that has been washed (either with a CG-friendly sulfate-free cleanser or a co-wash), detangled, and rinsed clean. The key is to listen to your hair and find the right frequency for your curls. This is not to say that you must necessarily squish to condish every time you wash your hair, however. It’s important to note that, while you will very likely see immediate benefits after your first squish to condish session, squish to condish should be treated as an integral part of your routine. Squish to condish is beneficial to all curly types, and doubly so for curlies who find that their hair has a hard time holding on to moisture. In the simplest terms, squish to condish is a method to get the most out of your conditioner and to make sure that it conditions properly by penetrating deep the hair shaft and into the cuticle. It requires no fancy tools, and you don’t need to go out and buy any special products – simply use the conditioner that you normally use. It is a technique designed to impart and lock in moisture using conditioner and water. Squish to condish, oftentimes abbreviated as S2C, is short for squish to condition. Any character that has appeared in canon wouldn’t be as malleable or have as broad a range of roleplaying options and still respect “Star Trek” canon. KM: The reason we’ve gone for a whole new crew and ship is to allow the player room to tell their own story. Carter’s world will have a different flavor than that of the senior staff, and he’ll have different actions that he can take than Jara can on the bridge. But I’ve always thought it was really cool when the shows would focus on characters lower in the ranks, who have their own kinds of stories. We knew fans would want to be on the bridge of a starship – at the heart of the action. Jara, as First Officer, is tasked with carrying out the captain’s orders, but is also in the best position to push back on them, so that’s a dynamic role to put the player in. Players will get to see certain characters in different lights, and it’s exciting to show two sides to life aboard the starship. With players inhabiting both of these characters, they get to explore mysteries and unravel the story from two very different angles, each taking on unique challenges. : Can you discuss more about the game's characters and the choice-based narrative?ĭM: Players experience “Star Trek: Resurgence” through two point-of-view characters: Jara Rydek, the new First Officer on the Resolute and Carter Diaz, an enlisted crew member in Engineering. “First Contact” quickly became my benchmark for cinematic presentation for the game.Įngineer Carter Diaz (Image credit: Dramatic Labs) Even after all this time, classic “Star Trek” feels fresh.Īs Cinematic Director I wanted to bring a lot of the visual cues that make the classics feel the way they do, from the locked cameras and clever blocking of the TV shows to the more lavish camera work and visual effects in the films. When starting on this project I took a very serious dive into the source material and fell in love with it all over again. KM: “Enterprise” was my first "Trek" show, followed by the 2009 film, then I got into “TNG” and the “TOS” films after that. And there are so many indelible moments from classic “Trek” that you’d be hard-pressed to tell a story in this universe without paying homage or being influenced by at least some of them. In broad terms, those early impressions of adventure, camaraderie, humor, and mystery have all had an impact on the game and its narrative. Now there’s a ton of new “Star Trek” to feed a very dedicated fanbase, and we’re proud to be a part of that. And once more as streaming came around, and put the whole collection just a click away. Then in the era of DVD boxed sets, I got to rediscover it all over again. I got into it as a kid, watching the first run of “The Next Generation.” Probably because it was the only thing on in that time slot other than the local news! But I soon found “Star Trek” had adventure, camaraderie, humor, mystery – and I was hooked. : How did you become “Star Trek” fans and what personal associations did you inject into “Resurgence’s" gameplay?ĭM: There hasn’t really been a time when I wasn’t a “Star Trek” fan. We know he’ll be heavily examined by the fans, and we hope we’ve met their expectations. From the voice performance to the character design, to capturing his very particular expressions and mannerisms, we’ve put a lot of love into bringing Spock to life. Kent Mudle: I have to add that getting to portray Spock was an honor. So it was crucial to give the Resolute a crew you’d want to be a part of, but also one that would challenge the player when it came time to make the hard calls, in the same way that Spock and McCoy push and pull on Captain Kirk’s decision making. We have tricorders, phasers, shuttlecraft… But at its heart, “Star Trek” is about relationships and the tough decisions of command – whether you’re making them as a starship captain or as the boots-on-the-ground, with your back against a wall. : What elements of the “Star Trek” experience were most important to capture and respect?ĭM: We want “Resurgence” to deliver on a wide range of the elements you think of when you close your eyes and picture “Star Trek.” And our team has put an enormous amount of care into making sure we get the look and the sound of “Trek” right. But as the Resolute crew works to negotiate peace, they discover a sinister conspiracy lurking beneath the surface. Resolute sets out to the edge of the galaxy, where two neighboring civilizations stand on the brink of war. : Can you take us on a warp-speed run of the new game's storyline?ĭan Martin: In “Star Trek: Resurgence ” the U.S.S. spoke with Dramatic Labs’ Cinematic Director Kent Mudle and Lead Writer Dan Martin on the fusion of modern gaming techniques with old-fashioned “Star Trek” storytelling, and what fans can expect from the game’s art style and tone. This game is fun, and the added fact that you can unlock all 3 previous Splatterhouse games is another major plus. All in all, this is just a balls to the wall, gory, over-the-top blast and if given the chance, should entertain anyone who doesnt have a weak stomach or snooty morals against gore/obscenity. The heavy metal background soundtrack is also a nice touch and very effective without getting in the way of the experience. The gameplay mechanics are solid and satisfying, with Splatter Kills and special moves being extremely fun to pull off. The voice acting, especially from Jim Cummings as The Terror Mask, is spot on. Those things aside, I think the games graphics are fine with nice artistic direction really nailing that feeling of a gorefest, horror-inspired game that Splatterhouse by all means should be. The mainstream critics were overly harsh on it and I'm not entirely sure why, as I found only two flaws slightly long loading times and (not necessarily a flaw) the game can get really hard. Those things aside, I think the games graphics are fine with nice I thoroughly enjoyed this remake of Splatterhouse and to anyone who is a fan of the old games, I say this is a must have game. There is even new implication in regards to gut health and childhood Type 1 diabetes and indication that new treatments for this condition may lie within gut function and probiotics. There was an 82% reversal of the peanut allergy from continued use of this probiotic (tested under close medical supervision). One particular study looked at lactobacillus rhamnosus given to children with a positive IgE (skin prick allergy test) to peanuts. Refer to the list of additional references below which show connection between autism, ADHD and probiotic need.Īdditionally, probiotics and the gut microbiome (balance of good/bad bacteria) have been found to play a role in allergies and specifically food allergies. In a small study published in Nature medical journal, results showed that when infants were given a specific strain of probiotic (lactobacillus rhamnosus strain), there were zero cases of autism and ADHD, whereas, in the placebo group, 17.1 percent had developed autism or ADHD. Taking care of some of these underlying issues can many times lead to improvements in behaviors and symptoms associated with autism, ADHD and sensory conditions. Many of these kids also have immunologic and metabolic problems which effect their behaviors and emotional health. These physical symptoms are another area in which probiotics have been found to be very beneficial. Many kids on the autism spectrum have problems related to gut health ranging from acid reflux, constipation, diarrhea, and abdominal bloating and pain. So keeping our gut health as healthy as possible is crucial to keep this neurotransmitter producing! Serotonin is what most medications for depression, ADHD and anxiety work on. Serotonin is the “feel-good” neurotransmitter which is derived from tryptophan and Vitamin B6 is also needed to produce this. And now researchers are realizing that gut health is very important for brain health and function as well. GigaTrak’s Barcode Inventory Software is flexible by design, simple to use, cost effective to support your bottom line. Barcode Inventory Software that includes barcode label designer means you don’t have to spend unnecessary money on an additional inventory software product, also reducing the number of barcode software products you need to support and maintain. However, unless all labels, from inventory receipt labels, to inventory location labels, to barcode labels on the manufactured or shipped inventory item, are available as pre-printed barcode labels, at some point a company is going to have a requirement to print their own barcode. Barcode inventory software is often an afterthought when barcode label projects are in the planning stage. Barcode Inventory Software lets you create barcode location labels, barcode inventory labels, barcode receipt labels and barcode shipping labels. Our products include, at no additional cost, an embedded barcode designer and barcode label designer module – allowing our barcode software users to design and create their own barcode inventory labels. GigaTrak Barcode Solutions offers a wide variety of custom and off-the-shelf inventory control and asset management barcode software. GigaTrak Barcode Inventory Solutions: we know how to barcode inventory! How to Barcode Inventory Software Consider the business you’re in (Healthcare inventory management, Construction Contractor inventory management, and Food Service or Food products under FDA regulations). Consider the barcode information to be printed on the barcode label. Consider the software application’s requirements for the barcode. 3: Barcode labels– polypropylene, paper, ceramic, metallic barcode tags? 4: Location barcode labeling– Okay, so you have barcoded inventory, what about barcoding the location, so it can be located once it’s put away? 5: Like barcode printers have a variety of fonts, there are also many types of barcodes – Code 39, UPC, EAN, Interleaved 2of5. 2: Barcode inventory environment – like we said, match the barcode label to environment – don’t use direct thermal barcode labels where thermal transfer barcode labels are called for. 1: Consider the barcoded product– is it normal, hot, cold, indoor/outdoor stored? Make sure the barcode label is up to attaching to the barcoded product. At GigaTrak, Barcode 101 teaches that any barcode inventory, or barcode asset project has a minimum of 10 components:ĥ) Type of barcode labels on inventory items and inventory locationĦ) Barcode scanner to scan barcode and end user scanning barcodeħ) Administrator or supervisor responsible for maintaining barcode inventory systemsĨ) Barcode project manager (aka, the person who got stuck with the barcode project)ġ0) IT staff responsible for administering the barcode software application “My way”, well, that can be a good way to set up barcoded inventory or barcode assets, once you’ve established the ground rules. The wrong way is to simply start slapping barcode labels on product. The right way is to start with a barcode project plan. So it goes with barcode… barcode inventory or barcode assets…in either case the proper barcode tools are required. “There’s a right way, a wrong way and my way” … to do something, or so my parents always said. |
