5.Remove the battery, tray and support.6.Remove the driver side splash shield from under the car. If you don’t have a Miata available go hit the junkyard. The one I stole off my 96 Miata would not fit here so I put it on the rear of the engine. You have to use this lift eye because it is the only one that will fit. You will see an empty threaded hole right above the alternator. I took the one off the back of the engine and bolted it to the provided spot on the left front corner of the engine head. I guess they had to remove it in order for the cool engine cover to fit. 4.The 2ZZ engine does not have a front engine lifting eye from the factory. Remove the front wheels.3.Remove from the engine the plastic cam box cover. Be sure and mark the hood hinge where it meets the hood so that you can reinstall it in the correct position later.2.Jack up the car and support it with jack stands. Now that that legalese is out of the way let’s get after it….1.Remove the hood. The writer takes no responsibility for a damages or personal injury resulting from using these instructions. It would go much easier if you have a helper. There will be only one engine motor mount attached when you pull the tranny out. You do need to support the engine as 3 of the motor mounts attach to the transmission and they need to be removed to pull the transmission. You do not have to remove the engine to do this job, or have any special Toyota tools. It was really not has hard as I thought it would be, but I would not recommend this procedure if this is the first time you have ever done a clutch change on anything. If you buy from this dealer just be prepared on what the vehicle might look like or in this case smell like too. After reading many incomplete strings on how to change the clutch I decided to try it on my own and write about it. In my opinion the salesman is a typical sneaky salesman and by the posting it seems like the owner might be the same way. Knowing how much he lied about the vehicle upfront just made me wonder what else was wrong with the vehicle mechanically. He said it's used so this is what you get. This was a 2016 vehicle so all the problems it had didn't just seem like wear an tear but he acted like I was an idiot an that I should of known that the vehicle was going to look like that. I talked to the salesman that I talked with on the phone and all he had to say was it was all wear an tear an thar I was being to picky. There was also somthing sticky all over the carpet in the back. The driver side sear had a huge hole in the side of it where it looked like it got cut out and not just from wear. The inside of the vehicle smelled like it had mold in it there was pieces missing from the overhead storage compartment. The lower Part of the bumper was disconnected and it had been hit before cause it was spider cracked all over. I over looked the outside of the vehicle and there was rust all over the edge of the hood about 2 inches up, and they just painted over it. Well I was fooled I went there to look at the vehicle and the posting said it had remote start but when I got the key there was no fob to do the remote start, so I asked if there was a key fob that went with the vehicle and he said no but he could program one to unlock the car. I told the guy I was going to have to drive 1 hour and 30 minutes just to get there and to please be honest about its condition. I was skeptical by the posting because it said the exact same thing. I called the dealer about a vehicle that I was interested in purchasing and the salesman led me to believe that the vehicle was in excellent condition inside and out. *LOW MILEAGE* THIS AWD 2005 PONTIAC VIBE IS IN GOOD CONDITION IN AND OUT! Located in Cincinnati, OH / 824 miles away from Rutland, ND They couldn’t have made any money on the sale with the cost of that repair but did the honorable thing and fixed it for free. When I saw other reviews for this dealer I was skeptical but after they went above and beyond to do that kind of repair when they no longer even owned the car I would definitely trust these guys. They replaced the turbo which is a big, difficult and expensive repair free of charge and told me to bring it back if I have anymore issues with the car in the near future. On the test drive everything ran great, unfortunately on the way home after buying the turbo failed, a rare failure for this engine, I called MJ my salesman who was shocked, he immediately told me to bing it back in and they would take care of it no problem.
